Studies on synthesis and antimicrobial activity of 2-amino-1-cyanobenzopyrano[4,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives.

The behavior of 2-amino-4[H],5[H]3,4-dihyro[1] benzopyrano [4,3]pyrimidin-4,5-dione -1-carbonitrile(1) towards some nucleophilic and el ectrophilic reagents has been described with the aim of preparing some poly funct ionally fused heterocyclic compounds. All these compounds were characterized by means of their IR, HNMR, Mass spectroscopic data and microanalysis, and were evaluated by the Cup plate method.
