Effect of carbon on diffusion rate of arsenic

1975
Carbon affects the diffusion front and the diffusion depth of arsenic. A thin network of ferrite with arsenic is formed in low-carbon steels, while in high-carbon steels the arsenic intrudes into the metal in the form of separate wedges. The depth of the diffusion coating decreases with increasing carbon concentrations, and the microhardness increases.
