GEOCHEMICAL STUDIES ON THE LEAD ISOTOPES FROM THE DEVONIAN STRATABOUND ORE DEPOSITS IN THE NANLING REGION

The lead isotopic composition of the Devonian stratabound ore deposits in the Nanling region is highly variable and belongs mostly to the "mixing type". The "mixing type" lead can be grouped into three types which repre-sent different genesis, sources, ore-forming processes and deposit types, respectively The three types of lead isotope seem to be distributed with regularity in the region. We therefore can use the characteristics of the lead isotope, which serve as an important indicator for prospecting for the ore deposits, to determine metallogenic provinces.
