Взаємозв’язок концентрації інтерлейкіну-1 бета в пародонтальних кишенях із клінічними результатами нехірургічного лікування хронічного генералізованого пародонтиту із застосуванням ад’ювантної антибіотикотерапії азитроміцином

2014
The aim of the study was to establish the relationship of IL-1β in periodontal pockets with clinical indexes of periodontal disease after treatment by two regimens of adjuvant use of azithromycin to confirm the effectiveness of treatment. Patients of the 1st group received a standard periodontal treatment, patients of the 2nd one were administered azithromycin by 500 mg once a day, during 3 days, patients of the third one were administered by 500 mg once a day, during 7 days, after that 500 mg once a week during 12 weeks. IL-1β was determined in active areas of an inflammation of 1-2 teeth. Repeated investigations were performed in 2 weeks, in 1, 3, 6 and 12 months. The lowest level of clinical and immune inflammation in the course of year was established after treatment with adjuvant prolonged antibiotic therapy. Clinical effect was confirmed by levels of IL-1β in periodontal pockets, which were the lowest in the third group, from the 14th day after treatment and at the end of the investigation. The concentration of IL-1β is a local sub-clinical biomarker for diagnosis and treatment activity of chronic periodontitis.
