The dithiobis(tricarbonyliron) dianion: Improved preparation and new chemistry
1980
Abstract The reaction of two molar equivalents of lithium triethylborohydride in THF −78° with one of (μ-S 2 Fe 2 (CO 6 ) results in formation of the [S 2 Fe 2 (CO) 6 ] 2− dianion in essentially quantitative yield. Reactions of this dianion with organic halides and with halides of tin, germanium, silicon and nickel are reported. Protonation of the dianion produces (μ-HS) 2 Fe 2 (CO) 6 .
