Thermodynamic prerequisites for metastable colloidal states in melts with unlimited component miscibility

1995
The change of system free energy at dissolution of a colloidal particle of composition x 1 in a medium of composition x2 has been studied. It is shown that in a certain temperature-concentration region the dissolution occurs under kinetic conditions. During this process, the interfacial tension increases and conditions necessary for metastable equilibrium with dispersion medium of 10-nm particles are fulfilled.
