difolia, Nephrolepis biserrata, Salvinia minima, and Thelypteris augescens. The last one is also a new record for Mexico. During the ongoing preparation of a taxonomic treatment of the ferns and allied plants of the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico, we have reviewed material deposited in several herbaria (BM, MEXU, MO, XAL) and have discovered from the southern portion of the state of Quintana Roo six fern species that had been omitted in previous accounts of the flora of the Peninsula (Sosa et al., 1985; Sousa & Cabrera, 1983; Tellez & Cabrera, 1987). Thelypteris augescens is also a new report for Mexico. These six species constitute one-fourth of all pteridophyte species known from Quintana Roo.
