FAKTOR RISIKO KEJADIAN INFEKSI SALURAN PERNAPASAN AKUT PADA ANAK USIA 6 BULAN SAMPAI 5 TAHUN DI PUSKESMAS ROWOSARI

Background: Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARTI) is one of the most dangerous infectious disease in the world. Approximately four million people deceased because of this disease every year. ARTI is one of the most common infectious diseases on children in Rowosari Puskemas. Objective: To identify the risk factors associated with ARTI in infant and children from 6 months until 5 years in Rowosari Puskesmas, Semarang. Method: The method of this study was case control with primary data and secondary data from questionnaire. The subject was children who suffered from ARTI that came to Puskesmas Rowosari Semarang from 6 months to 5 years old. The number of samples were 128 respondents, consist of 64 control group and 64 cases group. Data was analyzed by chi square test. Result:.There were no significant association between sex gender, knowledge level, parent’s job, economic status, birth weight, exclusive breastfeeding status, the giving of ASI food complementary, immunization status, the amount of house mate, smoking of ARTI in children (p < 0.05). There were significant association between hand washing of children after play to ARTI (p= 0,002, OR 0,332). Hand washing of mother before contact to children also has significant association to ARTI (p 0,013; OR 0,409). Conclusion: There are significant associations between hand washing of children after play and hand washing of mother before contact to children with ARTI.
