THE BIOMECHANICAL AND ULTRASTRUCTURAL PROPERTIES OF HUMAN FASCIA LATA

The fascia lata was collected post-mortem from 8 people (men aged 45-53 years) in the way to preserve the best native tissue quality. The mechanical properties of the samples were determined in the uniaxial tensile test in two directions: aligned and perpendicular to the collagen fibres [›ak, 2011].
