Experimental Study on Gas Explosion Detonated by the Rock Friction Sparks

2006
The detonating capacity of the rock friction sparks was tested by using the two self-designed experimental devices (low-speed reciprocating and high-speed revolving) and the TVS-2000 MK II ST thermal infrared imaging device. The results indicate that the concentration of quartz has a big influence on intensity of the rock friction sparks; no matter in what speed friction of peats has nothing to do with the gas explosion; as to the sandstone, friction can detonate the gas in a certain speed, while the friction of the humid ones is hard to induce the gas explosion.
