According to the novel bar-plate-bar protective gap device, a protective gap can operate reliably when power frequency over-voltage occurs and does not operate when lightning over-voltage occurs, and therefore, the novel bar-plate-bar protective gap device can be matched with a lightning arrester to protect insulation of the transformer neutral point.
