Bifurcation phenomena in an emissive plate — simulated divertor plasma system

Emissive divertor plate has been considered as a candidate of innovative divertor concepts. Interesting bifurcation phenomena have been observed in such a nonlinear system composed of the plate with thermoelectron emission and the high heat flux plasma, while a strong reduction of sheath potential is demonstrated. Feasibility of hot tungsten divertor plate is discussed.
