NMR study of 1,3-dioxolane synthesis by condensation of trioxane and ethylene glycol
1992
The composition of reaction mixtures in the synthesis of 1,3-dioxolane from trioxane and ethylene glycol in the presence of sulfuric acid was measured by 1 H and 13 C NMR spectroscopy. It was found that, during polycondensation, macrocycles were virtually not formed. It was possible to quantitatively determine the contents of the initial components, dioxolane and trioxepane, as well as the content, microstructure, and molecular mass of linear oligomers
