The failure factors in treatment of approximal caries lesions by tunnel restorations

2008
The tunnel restoration access in approximal dentinal caries from the occlusal surface was designed to preserve the anatomical marginal ridge and minimize the loss of healthy tooth structure adjacent to the carious lesion, but it has been accepted more in theory than day-to-day clinical practice. This review will focus on the successive rate of this kind of technique, the reasons why it failed and the factors related to its clinical performance.
