EFEITO DE MODOS E ÉPOCAS DE APLICAÇÃO DE GESSO E CALCÁRIO SOBRE A CULTURA DO FEIJOEIRO (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cv. CARIOCA-80
1996
In a dark red latossol, medium texture, an experiment was conducted in order to estimate the influence of mode and time of application of gypsum and lime on some nutrition and thecnologic characteristics of the bean crop (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cultivated under irrigation. The experimental design consisted of random bloks in a factorial (4x3)+2 scheme, with four repetitions, including four modes of application of gypsum and lime, three levels of gypsum and two extra treatments. The results showed that the use of gypsum determined higher contents of Ca in the grain, resulting in longer cooking time. The association between gypsum and lime determined an increase in the sulfur content in leafs and in the weight of a hundred grains, when gypsum was utilized separatelly. The relation of hidratation decreased with the increase of the doses of gypsum when gypsum was delivered to the soil 45 days before seeding and when gypsum and lime were delivered to the soil 45 days before seeding.
