Cloning and Identification of an Ubiquitin-Conjugating Enzyme E2 N Gene from Lethenteron Camtschaticum

The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is an important cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation. Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2N is a protein that is encoded by the UBE2N gene. Here, we report an Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme UBE2N (LaUBE2N) gene in lamprey, which contained 456-bp Open Reading Frame (ORF) encoding 152 amino acids with a typical UBC domain.
