Detection of lactyl lactate in the urine of patients receiving Hicaliq infusion

1986
Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) has been used to screen a number of metabolites in blood or urine, for the diagnosis of metabolic disorders [1,2]. Other studies on bacterial metabolites by the same method have been carried out for the rapid identification of microorganisms [3,4]. Thus, lactyl lactate and succinyl lactate recently have been reported as possible bacterial metabolites in human urine [5]. The present report describes urinary lactyl lactate derived from infusion solutions containing lactyl lactate.
