MR Elastography–derived Stiffness: A Biomarker for Intervertebral Disc Degeneration

MR elastography–derived shear stiffness measurements increased with advancing intervertebral disc degeneration, weakly correlated with age, and did not change between morning and afternoon measurements, which suggests that they might be an objective biomarker of the intervertebral disc degeneration process.
