Measurement of acetylcholine receptor and anti-receptor antibodies by ELISA
1980
Both acetylcholine receptor (AChR) and antibodies capable of binding to the AChR can be measured using the recently developed enzymelinked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The assay is very sensitive and reproducible. Because of the relative simplicity of the ELISA in comparison to radioimmunoassay procedures currently used to measure anti-AChR antibodies, the ELISA may prove valuable as a clinical diagnostic tool for the human disease myasthenia gravis.
