Non-celiac Small Bowel Enteropathies

2019
Medication-induced enteropathy is an emergent cause of unexplained diarrhea. The list of medications reported to cause enteropathy is increasing. Typical symptoms include severe weight loss, chronic diarrhea, and malabsorption of nutrients. In this chapter, we will present a case to illustrate a typical presentation of a patient with sprue-like enteropathy associated with losartan and then review the epidemiology, etiology/pathogenesis, symptoms, diagnostic evaluation, and treatment of selected non-celiac enteropathies.
