Multiple-element PIFA MIMO antenna system design for future 5G wireless communication applications

2017
This paper presents the design of multiple-element printed inverted F-antenna (PIFA) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna with a system operating at Ka-Band frequency which operates at a high frequency. Frequency of 28GHz is used in this proposed design which is suitable for future millimetre-wave (mmWave) fifth generation (5G) and specifically designed for wireless communication applications. First antenna is designed with dimension of ground plane 15mm length and 5mm width. It consists of three element PIFA MIMO antenna with the study of specific position towards each other. Second antenna is designed with same dimensions as the first one but with an additional of parasitic elements. Both of the design show good minimum isolation more than 10dB, gain achieved more than 4dB and large range of bandwidth. The antennas were designed, optimized and the results are simulated by using CST 2016.
