Genetics and epigenetics differences in monozygotic twins: the vision of the geneticist

Abstract Monozygotic twinning is one of the commonest major congenital abnormalities with an overall incidence at birth of 1:250. The different aspects of the genetic aetiology of this discordance in monozygotic twins will be discussed in this chapter.
