Method and device for monitoring crank call

Provided are a method and a device for monitoring a crank call. The method comprises: acquiring the number of originating calls from a calling user during a pre-set time period; acquiring the number of calls hung up by a called user corresponding to the calling user during the pre-set time period; and according to the number of originating calls and the number of calls, determining whether the calling user is a legal user. By means of the present invention, the problem in the relevant art that there is no way to efficiently distinguish legal calls, which have high original calling frequencies and different call objects, from illegal calls such as advertisement calls, fraud calls and reactionary calls is solved, thereby improving the precision of monitoring crank calls.
