Efficient Control of Output Parameters of the Medium Power Gyrotrons

Usually the gyrotron is associated with a very high power radiation source, for example, intended for heating plasma in thermonuclear projects. There are a number of promising applications of THz and sub-THz gyrotrons, such as nonlinear microwave spectroscopy, diagnostics of various media, remote detection of radioactive materials etc., for which extremely high power is not required, but the fast and flexible control of output parameters (frequency and power) is very important. The report provides an overview of the latest results obtained in IAP RAS related to control of gyrotrons output parameters.
