The demands made on emergency room facilities by an urban population.

1978
Information from a study of the Attendance Profile in an Accident and Emergency department of a District General Hospital has been correlated with information derived from the U.K. National Census 1971 for the same catchment area. Various linking features and trends between socio-economic deprivation and a requirement for Accident and Emergency Department treatment have been identified. Sub-areas of the Lancaster District have been directly compared. This report is part of a study which commenced in 1968, and is still in progress.
