Teratogenic evaluation of an indigenous antifertility medicinal plant Gossypium herbaceum in rat

Seed suspension of G. herbaceum, orally administered at the dose of 200 mg/kg to pregnant rats, caused abortion of 57.14% foetuses. Where pregnancy was not interrupted, marked malformation in the newborns were seen.
