Establishment of fast chemical separation using SISAK

2006
SISAK (Short-lived Isotopes Studies by the AKUFVE technique), the fast on-line solvent extraction system, is widely applied in the separation and identification of short-lived nuclides, the synthesis of super-heavy elements and the study of nuclides far from stabilitying. The procedure, principle and development of SISAK have been described here. The equipment based on SISAK technology was established in China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE). Using this equipment together with gas-jet recoil transportation technology, short-lived nuclides were separated from the fission products. A practical example further demonstrated the superiority of SISAK technology in fast chemical separation.
