Las cuevas como focos puntuales de nitrificación de las aguas subterráneas en el karst

2021
The classical and traditional sources of groundwater nitrification are conceptually diffuse, because, by their nature, it is very difficult to locate specific points of contamination by nitrogenous nutrients, unless working at detailed scales. Caves are specific sources of groundwater nitrification of and, even more, for the emission of nitrogen gases into the atmosphere. Thus, a specific variable is now added to the mathematical modeling of nitrification processes. The importance of this fact is transcendental for the management of terrestrial waters in karst because, in addition to the individual knowledge of a specific pollutant source, it allows to significantly improve the design and operation of groundwater and air pollution monitoring.
