Introduction and objective: In Chile in the decade of the 2000s, as part of the health Reform, the Explicit health Guarantees (GES-acronym in Spanish) were implemented for the purpose of decre asing the inequalities in health. The objective of the study is to describe the inequalities in the self-perceived need for dental attention, in the request for care and in the access to dental care existing in the year 2003 before the implementation of the GES in Chile.
