Respondent and operant behavior

Abstract This chapter provides an overview of the learning processes that are believed to underlie psychopathology. Accordingly, we provide a review of respondent and operant conditioning and the variables influencing the acquisition and maintenance of each. We describe examples of each type of learning and provide case examples to illustrate the use of treatments derived from the principles of respondent operant and conditioning.
