Effects of xylooligosaccharides on growth performance, biochemical indexes and egg quality in laying hens.

2009
In order to study effects of xylooligosaccharides(XOS)on the growth performance, biochemical indexes and egg quality in laying hens,720 Hailan laying hens at 55-week-old were randomly divided into four groups with 6 replicates in each group and 30 laying hen in each replicate. The hens in control group were fed with basal diet, the others were fed with basal diet supplemented with 0.015% oxytetracycline,0.01% XOS or 0.015% XOS,respectively. The results showed that laying rate and feed/egg ratio of group Ⅱ were significantly better than that of control group(P0.05).Compared to control group,glutamic-pyruvic transaminase activity of group Ⅱ decreased by 25.00%(P0.05),and that of group Ⅲ decreased by 22.92%(P0.05);cholesterol total content of group 2 decreased by 30.82%(P0.05)and that of group Ⅲ decreased by 28.77%(P0.05).Compared to the quality of eggs of control group, cholesterol content of group Ⅱ and group Ⅲ decreased by 20.66% and 26.42%(P0.01),respectively.Protein content in group Ⅱ and group Ⅲ increased by 10.07% and 10.79%(P0.05),respectively.All results indicated that diet with 0.01% XOS was optimal.
