Humidity sensor diagnostic method using a condensation remove heating

A diagnostic method for a capacitive humidity sensor includes a heater and a capacitive sensing element that identifies a deterioration of the heating, the temperature sensing element or the capacitance sensing element individually. By this method, individual elements of the sensor can be replaced or compensated for in order to allow a further operation.
