Quantitative Analysis of Localized Corrosion in Inhibited Fluids

This article describes the use of a new transient data analysis to provide information about the magnitude and rate of localized attack. The data analysis showed that prior knowledge of the morphology of the attack can help in tuning the calculation algorithm to more accurately determine its magnitude. The experiment used jet impingement measurements to accelerate localized attack in a carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) environment in a short-duration test.
