A method for producing doped or metallised regions in a solar cell substrate and the corresponding solar cell

2013
There is described a method for producing doped and / or metallized areas on a surface (3) of a semiconductor substrate (1) for a solar cell. There is a pattern of different types of areas (5, 7), for example lower-lying portions (5) and higher-lying part regions (7) on the surface (3). In the underlying partial areas (5) a flowable substance (11) is for example introduced in the form of a screen printing paste or ink jet ink containing dopants and / or metal particles and also to increase its flowability containing a fluidizing agent. Because of their flowability for example, drop-shaped, first introduced substance (11) laterally melts and preferably fills the lower-lying regions (5) evenly. Subsequently, the condensing agent can be evaporated, or converted and are thus solidified from the flowable substance (11). Subsequently, metal particles contained in the substance can (11) to be fired, to form, for example, electrical metal contacts, or in the substance contained dopants (11) can be diffused to form, for example, emitter regions of the solar cell. With the proposed method, a risk of short circuit current paths in solar cells can be reduced and manufacturing tolerances can be greater than in conventional production process of solar cells.
