Simulation of Electromagnetic Target Based on Movement of Quite Zone

In the Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR) of the array feeding is proposed. The feeding phase is changed to attain the moving of the quiet zone (QZ). The moving performance of quiet zone on compact antenna test range is analyzed. An electromagnetic target simulator based on the quiet zone movement of the CATR. The movement of the quiet zone is used to simulate the motion of the target with different characteristics in the actual. The phase of the feeds of the 1×3 horn-array was changed to realize the movement of the quiet zone in the CATR. The phase consistency of the millimeter wave QZ of the target simulation system determines the target simulation accuracy. The amplitude and phase characteristics of the quiet zone with different beam directions are analyzed in detail.
