Anti-fatigue effects of flavone in Pinus massoniana pollen on mice.

2010
To investigate anti-fatigue effect of Flavone in on mice, flavone was administered(ig) daily with three different doses to female mice for 14 days(10,20 and 40 mg/kg·bw) and distilled water was administered(ig) to control group. After 14 days, the swimming test and pole climbing test were carried out and the survival time of mice subjected to hypoxia was recorded. When the mice were swimming for a period, blood was taken for determining serum lactic-acid,blood ureanitrogen(BUN) and their livers were taken for determining glycogen. Results showed that flavone in Pinus Massoniana pollen can significantly prolong swimming time and pole climbing time, reduce BUN level, increase liver glycogen storage and accelerate lactic-acidclearance after swimming. And the survival time subjected to hypoxia increased, without significant difference between groups.
