Analysis of dispersion of wave propagation in urban street canyons via the modal expansion approach

For the design of next-generation wireless communication systems (5G microcells, wireless sensor networks, device-to-device systems) in built-up areas, a key role is played by the peculiar propagation conditions within urban street canyons which determine a guiding effect of the transmitted electromagnetic (EM) signal.
