CONFLICTOS DE USO EN EL PROCESO DE ORDENAMIENTO MARINO COSTERO: VISIÓN DE AUTORIDAD MARÍTIMA. DEPARTAMENTO DE BOLÍVAR - COLOMBIA.

2020
Worldwide the activities of the maritime sector have grown exponentially increasing the pressure on marine resources and raising a series of issues and conflicts of use. Based on the former, Colombia´s General Maritime Directorate (DIMAR in Spanish) defined and implemented a method for Marine and Coastal Management within a Maritime Authority Vision (OMC: VAM in Spanish). The method involves tools from Geographic Information Systems (GIS), a multi-criteria analysis, and an allocation and co-location model (MAYC) to assess current and future conditions in the Department of Bolivar marine coastal area. Zoning by index and number of conflicts and the map of free zones were obtained from the 55 uses/activities identified. This information will facilitate monitoring, evaluation, and updating of maritime activities in this area. The results are considered as a starting point for the OMC: VAM, since the method established, could be replicated in other marine coastal areas of the country.
