III-COTTAGE-BOUND SELF-HELP SKILL TEACHING AND INTENSIVE SCHOOL TRAINING FOR THE PROFOUNDLY AND SEVERELY RETARDED

1976
Because of the deinstitutionalisation of the mentally retarded, the population of most training schools mainly consists of profoundly and severely retarded. Thus, effective training of these residents is one of the primary concerns of the institutions. This study reports the effect of an innovative “cottage-bound” self-help skill training programme and extended school programme hours for a small sample of this population.
