Long-Term Destiny of Biofragmentable Anastomosis Valtrac Rings in the Colon

The Valtrac biofragmentable anastomosis ring (BAR; Davis and Geck, USA) compression anastomosis has been used in our institution since June 1988. Our preliminary studies of the long-term results of BAR colonic anastomosis have been published by Gullichsen et al.1. This is an extended report with special reference to stricture formation.
