A COVID-19 Vaccines Review: What We Have Learned so Far and Where Do We Go from Here?

2021
As of the publication of this paper, 7 vaccines have gained full approval for their use against the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. With 6 being in early or limited use and 23 still in Phase 3 trial. For a virus that became known only in December 2019, the published results have broadly exceeded expectations on the vaccine. We review the current state of published and peer reviewed results, consider a number of aspects focused on Psychiatry and review a number of key issues which are being actively discussed in the research community such as prioritisation of the vaccine in the population, vaccine schedules and non pharmaceutical interventions during the roll out of the vaccine.
