2R all-optical regenerator assessment at 2.5 Gbit/s over 3600 km using only standard fibre

An all-optical 2R regenerator inserted in a 400 km long recirculation loop with 100 km spaced fibre amplifiers allows transmission at 2.5 Gbit/s over more than 3600 km of standard fibre without any dispersion management scheme.
