A rinse aid composition to reduce corrosion of glassware characterized by comprising: a) from 0. 01% to 70% by weight of at least one soluble metal salt in water, wherein said at least one soluble metal salt water comprises zinc and wherein said soluble zinc salt in water is selected from the group consisting of zinc acetate, zinc chloride, zinc gluconate, zinc formate, zinc malate, zinc nitrate, zinc sulfate and mixtures from the same; b) 0, 01% to 25% by weight of an acid; c) 0, 01% to 60% by weight of a nonionic surfactant; d) at least one of the following: a dispersant polymer, a perfume and mixtures thereof; e) optionally, at least one component selected from the group consisting of acid, dispersant polymer, perfume, hydrotrope, binder, carrier medium, antibacterial active, dye, and mixtures thereof; wherein said rinse aid composition has a pH of less than 5 when measured at a concentration of 10% in an aqueous solution.
