Regional and international prenatal telemedicine network for computerized antepartum cardiotocography.

2008
A five-year experience with cardiotocography indicates that high-risk third-trimester patients may be safely monitored from a university setting to their local care settings including international venues. The fetal outcomes were excellent, and the cesarean rate was actually less than the general regional experience. This very large study strongly validates telemedicine monitoring of pregnancy to identify and manage potential high-risk situations.
