The Radicalisation-Factor Model (RFM): Proposing a Framework for the Systematic Investigation and Modelling of Online Radicalisation

2020
Online platforms play a crucial role in the radicalisation of individuals. This chapter offers an empirically based, theory independent framework—the radicalisation-factor model (RFM). RFM evaluates the basis for the representation of mechanisms leading to or supporting online radicalisation. The framework presented in this chapter aims to contribute to the development of models, guiding policies and identifying gaps in the existing research about online radicalisation.
