A compact differential absorption lidar for tropospheric ozone measurement
1999
Summary form only given. Remote measurements of ozone concentrations are commonly performed using either the differential absorption lidar (DIAL) or Raman technique. The DIAL technique for tropospheric ozone requires laser wavelengths in the 285-295 nm region. We propose a very compact DIAL system based on an all solid state laser system consisting of a Nd:YAG pumped, tunable Ce:LiCrAlF/sub 6/ laser as the transmitter, operating in the solar blind region for day/night monitoring of the tropospheric ozone.
