2006 
Gangliogliomas are benign central nervous system tumors, a mixture of neurons (ganglion cells) and glial elements (astrocytes), they represent 1.1% of intramedullary spinal neoplasms. The authors describe the first case of a 7-year-old female with this tumor involving the entire spinal cord, diagnosed and treated in the Instituto Nacional de Pediatria, Mexico. The clinical presentation, radiological and histological features, treatment and postoperative follow-up are discussed.
