The Sino-Russian Relations in the Field of International Tourism

Russian-Chinese relations are currently developing quite successfully in many areas. Tourism is one of the most significant and promising areas of cooperation between Russia and China. Cooperation in this area should help to increase cultural ties and increase mutual understanding between Russian and Chinese citizens. The study presents the main types of tourism that are most popular among tourists, as well as the most popular tourist destinations in Russia and China. The most popular types of tourism for Russian and Chinese citizens are cultural, educational, environmental, business and educational. The authors analyzed the main laws that govern relations between Russia and China in the field of tourism and bilateral agreements, that are aimed at strengthening and facilitating interaction in the process of tourist exchange. A large number of measures to enhance the safety of Russian and Chinese tourists are being taken at the legislative level and at the level of intergovernmental agreements. Bilateral agreements are mainly aimed at facilitating the visa regime. The article examines the activities of two states in the framework of UNWTO, as well as provides an overview of other measures taken by the parties to increase the quantity and quality of tourist exchange. All projects supported by Russia and China within the organization are aimed at increasing the attractiveness of their tourist destinations for citizens of the partner state, as well as facilitating the interaction of staff and foreign tourists. The article analyzes current problems that require timely solutions, but so far remain ignored by governments.
