Nobody perform the shift change on the bed headboard, the 94.5% prepare the information in written format (80% in “Boxes area” don’t prepare) and a 90.9% receive insufficient information. The women consider to perform de shift change methodologically (72% against 20% in men, p=0.018) and to receive insufficient information (94% against 66%, p=0.012). About the global perception of adequacy of shift change received (information, time and context); 14 (25.4%) nurses agree and 18 (32.7%) disagree. Discussion. The emergency nursing professionals have a unfavorable consideration about the quality of shift change in terms of context, information and time, with large differences between Observation and Boxes area. The clinical practice in emergency is complex and dynamic, so the effective information transfer is a real challenge. The creation of shift change models has shown to decrease errors and improve the continuity and quality of care.
