Diagnosis of endometrial polyp by hysteroscopy

2006
Objective:To analyze the diagnosis value of hysteroscopy in endometrial polyp(EP),comparing with diagnostic curettage and ultrasonography diagnosis. Methods:Analyzing 845 hysteroscopy patients of abnormal metrorrhagia from Sep,2002 to Nov,2004,in which 94 patients were diagnosed as EP.For all the cases, ultrasonography had been done before hysteroscopy, diagnostic curettage had been done to all the EP patients, all the patients received endometrium electrosection through hysteroscope, and pathological examination after operation. Then the coincidence between the positive ratio of ultrasonography diagnosis, hysteroscopy, diagnostic curettage and pathological examination in EP's diagnosis were compared.Results:85 patients were diagnosed as EP by the pathological examination, the coincidence ratio of hysteroscopy and pathological examination in diagnosing EP is 90.43%,positive ratio of hysteroscopy diagnosis in EP is 11.12%,false positive ratio is 1.18%.The coincidence ratio of ultrasonography and pathological examination in diagnosing EP is 25.88%,positive ratio is 3.79%,false positive ratio is 1.32%.The coincidence ratio of diagnostic curettage and pathological examination in diagnosing EP is 0,positive ratio is 0.Conclusion:Hysteroscopy diagnosis is accurate and intuitionistic than diagnostic curettage and ultrasonography in EP diagnosis.
